Maricopa County is considering a switch to all-mail voting. Republic political reporter Rebekah L. Sanders speaks with Elections Director Reynaldo “Rey” Valenzuela about what voters can expect. Rebekah L. Sanders/azcentral.com

Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes will make a statement on Facebook Live at 2:30 p.m. about inflammatory comments he made to a voter on social media who criticized the design of election ballots.

The voter is Nathan Schneider, a Democratic candidate for the Arizona Legislature, who posted on Facebook that he couldn’t easily find the Nov. 7 election date on the ballot and related materials.

Fontes, a Democrat, told Schneider to “go F- yourself” in the Facebook comments and promised to defend his staff’s work. He later said he could have responded differently but wanted to move on, stopping short of apologizing.
